Abdullah Bin Shams is a doctoral student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada. Abdullah completed his MSc in Optics and Photonics from the Karlsruhe School of Optics & Photonics (KSOP) at the Karlsruhe Institute for Technology (KIT), Germany, in Prof. Uli Lemmer' Group. He received his BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology, Bangladesh. Abdullah’s research focuses mainly on biophotonic sensors and optical metasurfaces. He is developing AI algorithm for Inverse design of optical structures having optimum desired performance. Additionally, he is working on projects ranging from “AI in COVID-19 and Digital Health” to “Photo-voltaic powered Green Communications”.
